Summary
Before First Time Use
- Unpack your cookware and inspect it carefully. Do not discard the packaging until you have checked the contents.
- Carefully inspect the base for any scratches, burrs or any other damage that may have occurred during handling or transport. These damages can scratch the cooking zone! We can’t be held responsible for such damage to the cooking zone. Scratches of any kind on the cooking surface CAN’T be claimed under warranty.
- Before using the cookware for the first time, boil it 2 to 3 times in water and clean it with a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a soft cloth.
- Before using your new cookware with non-stick coating for the first time, heat the pan over a low heat, rub the non-stick surface with vegetable oil and allow the pan to cool. Then wipe off as much of the oil as possible with a paper towel. This will slightly season the surface and improve the properties of the coating. You may want to consider doing this periodically and each time before you put the cookware away for an extended period of time.
Safety Tips
Read all safety information carefully and thoroughly before using this product! Keep these instructions for future reference.
- Keep children away from the cooktop while you are cooking.
- Always take care when handling hot cookware to avoid injury.
- For safety reasons never leave cookware unattended while it is in use and ensure that the handles are positioned so that they never extend beyond the edge of the cooktop.
- Covers and handles can become hot during prolonged cooking.
- Take care when removing covers or lifting by the handles. Touch the handles lightly to make sure they are not hot. Use pot holders if necessary.
Stainless Steel Cookware
- This cookware is suitable for all cooktops (gas, ceramic, halogen and induction)
- Always start with a clean pan.
- Remove food from the fridge at least 10 minutes before cooking.
- If you are using oil for flavour or texture, heat the oil up for a minute or two on a low to medium heat before adding the food to the pan. Experiment to find the best setting.
- Your cookware has a fast and even heat transfer, so food and oil will sear very quickly. Always cook on a low to medium heat. Only use high heat if the pot is filled with a liquid to cook your food (such as pasta).
- Never let a pot or pan boil dry. Never leave a pot or pan overheated for too long.
- When placing hot cookware on a table or worktop, use a non-stick surface protector.
- Avoid scratching the (glass) cooking zones by moving the pan back and forth unnecessarily.
- This cookware is not intended for deep-frying.
Non-stick Coating
- Never cut food while in the pan as this will damage the surface. Don’t use mixers or whisks in these items.
- Do not use metal utensils in non-stick coated cookware.
Oven Use
- Stainless steel cookware: ovenproof up to 250°C / 482°F.
- Stainless steel cookware with non-stick coating: ovenproof up to 230°C / 446°F.
- Use pot holders when removing cookware from the oven.
Recommendations for Energy Saving
- Use a burner with a base diameter similar to that of the pan you have chosen.
- When cooking on gas, adjust the flame so that it does not flare up the sides of the pan.
- Use low heat to warm food, simmer or prepare delicate sauces.
- Heat settings are very important. Lower heat settings not only save energy, but also prevent the pan from getting too hot. The nature of this cookware is such that it retains and distributes heat more effectively, helping to cook some protein-rich foods more quickly.
Care & Clean
- Remember to allow your pan to cool down before cleaning.
- Always clean your cookware thoroughly, as any food residue will cook into the surface causing food to stick.
- Cookware without non-stick coating are dishwasher proof, but handwash is recommended. Cookware with non-stick coating is not dishwasher proof and must be washed by hand.
* Use a dishwashing detergent specifically designed for hand washing. Make sure that you do not use a harsh, citrus-based or chlorine bleach-based detergent.
* Use warm, soapy water and a sponge or dishcloth.
* Do not use steel wool or nylon scrubbing pads, oven cleaner or any abrasive, citrus-based or chlorine bleach-based detergent.
* Rinse with warm water and dry immediately with a soft cloth.
* If food remains stuck on the cookware, it can be soaked in water while heated gently at a low temperature (no need to boil the water)
